Following our appeal for Ainsworth Jewellery history earlier this year, we have been innundated with customer stories, photos, boxes and receipts which all help in us pieceing together a defined history of our family run business.
Since starting our appeal, we have already found evidence of errors in our history timeline, and receipts from shops we didn't know we owned! It has been a fascinating experience and we are always looking for more information and guidance from customers and friends who can help us on this historical journey.
Recently we had this beautiful satin ring box brought into us from a customer who married in October 1967.
Her wedding rings, purchased from Ainsworth Jewellers, which had just been established in its current premesis on Darwen Street, were presented in this beautiful box, which she has now donated to our ever-growing museum.
In addition to this, while writing this post, a gentleman came into the shop with a Record watch, in an Ainsworth Jewellers box from our 50 Market Place shop.
We were located at 50 Market Place between 1938 and 1965 and the engraving on the watch saw a date of 1940.
